Doctors
DR NICOLA MAGGS
Dr Nicola Maggs is an MRCGP Partner at Leiston Surgery, holding qualifications including MBBS, BSc (Hons), MRCGP, DFFP and DRCOG. She studied at King’s College London and qualified as a doctor in 1998. Dr Maggs has particular clinical interests in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and minor surgery. In addition to her clinical work, she is involved in medical education as an associate trainer, teaching students from the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
DR IMRAN QURESHI
MRCGP Partner Qualifications: MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG Qualified in 2000 at St Georges Hospital London Dr Qureshi has been a GP since 2007 when he moved to Suffolk. He has an interest in ENT, minor surgery and Clinically led Commissioning; and chairs the clinical executive of the CCG on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Outside interests include snooker, cricket, cars and reading.
DR MICHAEL BARSTOW
Qualifications: MbChB, MRCGP, DRCOG Dr Barstow studied at Liverpool University and qualified in 1999. His clinical interests include COPD, Joint injections and Minor Surgery. Dr Barstow was part of the NHS response to Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone 2014/15, helping to set up and then work in an Ebola treatment centre. Outside of work Dr Barstow enjoys spending time with his family, running and cycling.
DR DANIEL JONES
Qualifications: MbChB, MRCGP, MPharm (Hons), AFHEA Dr Jones completed his Masters in Pharmacy at the University of Bath in 2015 followed by qualifying as a doctor in 2019 from University of Warwick. He completed his GP training in Ipswich in 2024. He worked throughout the COVID pandemic within intensive care and A&E alongside roles in paediatrics, psychiatry and palliative care at St Elizabeth Hospice. His clinical interests include Sports and exercise medicine, palliative care. Outside of work Dr Jones enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, running and trying out new coffee shops.
DR FIONA WATSON
MB ChB MRCGP Salaried GP Dr Fiona Watson qualified from Liverpool University in 1995, and completed her GP training in Aldeburgh in 1999. Her clinical interests include mental health, dermatology and minor surgery. Outside of work Dr Watson enjoys badminton, house renovating and spending time with her family.
